Susanville Store Receives Bomb Threat: Nothing Suspicious Found

policeupdate3The Susanville Dollar Tree Store on Main Street was the victim of a bomb threat on Sunday according to details released today by the Susanville Police Department.

Officers from theĀ Police Department were called to the Dollar Tree at around 8:30 Sunday eveningĀ after a male subject called the store stating that he had placed a bomb in the store and he would detonate it if the employee refused to cooperate with the caller’s demand for money.Ā  The Dollar Tree employee refused, and the suspect eventually hung up.

“As a precautionary measure,” explains Police Chief Tom Downing,Ā “the store was evacuated and officers searched the area for anything suspicious.Ā  No suspicious items were located, at which point the store resumed normal operations.”
