There is no reason to go hungry! The United Methodist Church in Susanville opens up the HOPE Food Pantry at 635 Cottage Street next to the church each Friday.
HOPE, which stands for ‘Helping Other People Eat” is open from 3:00 to 6:00p.m. serving anyone who needs food. No I.D. is required.
Each week the church’s team of more than thirty volunteers serves an average of 120 guests representing an average of 420 hungry mouths at home.
HOPE Pantry staff will bring you a list of what food is available so that you can select what you want, then one of their volunteer “shoppers” will get your food and bring it back to you.
The first time you receive food from the HOPE Pantry, you will need to complete a short form with basic information about you and your household.
The church always appreciates donations of non-perishable foods as well as personal hygiene items including:
- Body soap
- Feminine hygiene products
- Socks (new)
- Toilet paper
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
The pantry opens at 3:00p.m. and the church asks that you not arrive before 2:15. They will hand out numbers to ensure everyone is helped in an orderly manner.
