Lassen Family Service’s 12th annual Walk-A-Mile event attracted a big crowd of folks who enjoyed a beautiful Saturday in the park while showing their support for survivors of sexual assault and child abuse.
Resource booths from more than a dozen agencies and organizations stretched across the length of the park, with fun family activities and information for everyone.
LFS Board Member Andy Beck opened the ceremony followed by a message from Susanville Mayor Mendy Schuster, a talk by Lassen County’s District Attorney Melyssah Rios, information from CASA Program Manager Jennie Hoffman and a native song by Percy Tejada.
Walkers followed a path up past Roop’s Fort from the park, turning left and heading to Main Street on Weatherlow, down Main to Grand Avenue and back to the park.
LFS hosts the walk annually each April to raise awareness and to provide information on the support services offered in Lassen County.
