Sunday, February 9
Lassen National Park will be offering ranger-led snowshoe walks to the public each Saturday and Sunday, from 1:30 to 3:30, until March 29th, weather permitting. The walks cover one to two miles of moderately strenuous terrain. Please note that walks may be canceled at the last minute due to extreme weather conditions. Please feel free to call (530) 595-4480 ahead to check on conditions. The guided walk begins at the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center at the park’s Southwest Entrance off of Hwy 36. Snowshoes are provided, a $1 donation is requested to cover maintenance costs.

Monday, February 10
Lassen Ale Works at the Pioneer Saloon Industry Night, every Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Do you work in the biz? Lassen Ale Works at the Pioneer Saloon welcomes you to Lassen County’s only industry night for restaurant, bar, food service and hospitality professionals. Come with your co-workers, mix and mingle with your peers from other local businesses. Relax and get waited on for a change. Bring your business ID or paycheck stub for specials on appetizers and beer.

Monday and Tuesday, February 10 and 11
Educational Prevention Groups for Youth Groups are presented by Lassen County Behavioral Substance Use Disorder Prevention Program. Educational Prevention Groups for Youths is on Mondays and Tuesdays 3:30 – 5:00p.m., at 1400-A Chestnut Street. You will learn about various topics and issues that many teens face: alcohol, vaping, drugs, health relationships, internet safety, tobacco, and much more. There is no cost to attend these groups. Lassen Community College Kinship Education Program workshop: Ages and Stages of Child Development presented by Anita Osborn. Anita Osborn is a Licensed Educational Psychologist with 30 years of experience in the field of children’s leaning and mental health. She will be discussing general principles of child development and the potential impact of adverse childhood experiences in order to provide appropriate care, nurturing support and responsive intervention. Lassen Community College Kinship Education Program workshop: Behavior Interventions presented by Anita Osborn. All children can exhibit behaviors that are difficult to handle at times; and children in foster care may have even more difficult challenges. This workshop will introduce participants to basic principles of what motivates behavior, what sustains behaviors, and what changes behavior. Common disciplinary techniques and their likely effectiveness will be covered. This workshop is open to all community members. Workshop is 1:00 – 3:00p.m., in the college boardroom. Lassen Ale Works at the Pioneer Saloon Trivia Tuesday. Every Tuesday night from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. $5 per person to enter. Teams of 1-4. Winners take home cash prizes.

Wednesday, February 12
Lassen County Arts Council presents, Watercolor Class with Bev Mendoza on Wednesdays, 1:00 – 3:00p.m., at the Gallery, 807 Cottage Street, Susanville. Every Wednesday join Bev’s class where all levels will explore water-based mediums. The class provides individual instruction on watercolor technique, composition, color theory/mixing, and critique. Lassen Family Services: Dad Class. Fathers make a unique and invaluable contribution to the well-being of their children. A father’s interaction with his children promotes healthy physical, emotional, social, and spiritual development. This class will guide you through the knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and characteristics that are necessary for healthy relationships with your children. Job’s Daughters Bethel No. 46 will be holding their fundraising Crab Feed at the Masonic Lodge at 84 N. Lassen Street from 4:00 – 7:00p.m. Crab will be served with soup, salad and garlic bread. Ticketers are $45 a person and can be purchased at Pregill Insurance on Main street or by calling 530-249-4866.

Saturday, February 15
Masonic Lodge #149 host their 3rd Saturday Breakfast from 8:00 – 11:00 am. The cost is $6.00, and it’s held at the Susanville Masonic Hall on Lassen Street (Across from the Post Office) the 3rd Saturday of each month. Proceeds go to benefit the School & Scholarship Fund.
