Symphony Kicks Off Performance Season with Saturday’s Concert on the Green

The Susanville Symphony Society will present its first concert of the 2021-2022 season this Saturday, September 25th, with a special outdoor performance on the lawn of the historic courthouse on Lassen Street featuring a unique mix of rock and symphonic sounds with special guest band Forgery.

The annual Concert on the Green, which begins at 5:00p.m.,  features everything from pop music to well known classical selections and is always one of the most popular symphony dates of the year.

“In the recent years the outdoor concert has turned into one big party!” says Conductor and Artistic Director Ben Wade. “And what party would be complete without a band?”

“This year we have our very own group of local talent that will blend perfectly with our orchestra. From Sweet Home Alabama to Stevie Wonder’s Superstition, Forgery will rock the house this weekend!”

The atmosphere is festive and concert goers are encouraged to bring their own tables and chairs, picnic blankets and baskets, food, wine and whatever else suits their fancy.

Prizes and gift baskets are always awarded for the best dressed table.

Families are encouraged to attend and children under 16 will get free admission. Admission for adults is $25.

You can purchase tickets at Axia Home Loans at 2940 Riverside Drive  Suite C. Audience members bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets and set up early to get the best seats in the house.

For ticket information call the symphony hotline at (530) 310-8111 or visit the symphony online at www.susanvillesymphony.com.
