Lassen Land and Trails Trust will be hosting a public workshop on March 29th at 5:00p.m. at the Historic Susanville Railroad Depot Visitor Center to discuss two grant proposals that were recently submitted to the State Off-highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division.

The Modoc Line OHV grant will implement trail maintenance projects on three priority segments of the Modoc Line Rail Trail.

LLTT has also applied for funds to commence restoration of the seven acre ‘Cut’ area behind the Depot. This proposed grant project will rehabilitate the cut banks and install new fencing to convert the property to a non-motorized recreation area.

Future plans also call for the construction of a 12 foot wide gravel path through the ‘Cut’ with a parallel equestrian path on native dirt.

LLTT also applied for a State Natural Resources Agency grant to make improvements to the Depot including the installation of gutters, new exhibits, and a new kiosk.

“We invite the public to learn more about these planned projects for our Depot property and to provide their feedback,” said Amy Holmen, LLTT Project Manager.
