Transient Convicted of Burglary, Felony Vandalism and Grand Theft

The Lassen County District Attorney’s Office has announced that Amanda Hubert Cazden, a transient, was convicted of three felony counts of 2nd degree burglary, three felony counts of vandalism, one felony count of grand theft of copper and two misdemeanor counts of copper theft.

The case was tried before a jury by Assistant District Attorney Ross Helmbold in May.

Cazden was convicted of burglarizing outbuildings belonging to Lassen Municipal Utility District between June of 2021 and July of 2022.

According to the District Attorney’s office, she was damaging the doors to make entry into the buildings, stealing copper wire, stripping it, and taking it to Nevada to sell.

The Lassen County District Attorney’s office thanked LMUD, the California Highway Patrol, and the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office and others involved for their assistance in the successful prosecution of this case.
