Two Honey Lake Valley residents were arrested early Tuesday morning after Lassen County Sheriff’s Deputies allegedly found multiple controlled substances and drug paraphernalia in their vehicle during a traffic stop for code violations.
Just after midnight deputies pulled the car over within the city limits, identifying the driver as 30-year-old Janesville resident Brianna Harrod, 30, and her passenger as 55-year-old Susanville resident Timothy Lee McCallister Jr.
Deputies were assisted by Susanville Police Department K9 “Zeke” who conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and positively alerted to the presence of narcotics.
“Upon searching the vehicle,” explains LCSO Captain Mike Carney, “deputies and officers located a glass smoking device with a white residue, commonly used to ingest methamphetamine. Also located inside the vehicle was a backpack that contained Fentanyl, Xanax, and Oxycodone.”
McCallister was placed under arrest and transported to the Lassen County Jail where he was booked for charges that included possession of a narcotic controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
Harrod was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
“The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Susanville Police Department for their assistance in this case. The Sheriff’s Office would also like the public to be aware of the dangers associated with Fentanyl. Please take the time read the below Fentanyl Drug Fact Sheet and share with your loved ones.”
