Two drivers face serious criminal charges after getting pulled over as part of the Susanville Police Department’s DUI Saturation Patrol Wednesday evening.
In the early evening hours, a police officer with the Susanville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle.
K-9 Officer Zeke was put to work and detected the scent of narcotics in the vehicle.
The driver was removed from the vehicle and was placed in handcuffs while a search revealed a loaded handgun that was stolen from out of the area, drug paraphernalia, suspected methamphetamine, and ammunition.
According to the police report, the driver of the vehicle is a convicted felon who was subsequently booked into the Lassen County Jail on multiple charges.
An unrelated traffic stop, later in the evening, yielded another felony arrest for the department, when a different police officer conducted a traffic stop and could smell the odor of marijuana coming out of the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle yielded more than ten pounds of cannabis. The driver was arrested for felony transportation of marijuana.
