Two Susanville residents were arrested Friday after officers from the Susanville Police Department interrupted the pair allegedly burglarizing a storage container at Lassen High School during last week’s power outage.

Shortly after midnight officers from the SPD were on patrol, proactively checking businesses during the extended power outage, when an officer observed a female on the high school campus near a storage container. The officer observed various items of clothing containing the words Lassen on it.

Police identified the woman as 32-year old Susanville resident Aymee Yvonne Jones, who at first gave officers a false name.

A second subject was found in the area and identified as 28-year old Susanville resident Dakota Rubel.

“Based on an investigation,” explains Sergeant Allen Sobol, “Dakota Rubel was placed under arrest for burglary and is currently incarcerated at the Lassen County Jail and being held on $20,000 bail.”

Jones was arrested for burglary and providing false identification to a police officer. She is currently incarcerated at the Lassen County Jail and is being held on $22,500 bail.
