Uptown Safe-n-Sane Halloween Event Happens Today at 3:30

More than a thousand ghosts, goblins, vampires and superheroes will roam the streets of uptown Susanville this afternoon, October 31st, at the big annual Safe and Sane Halloween celebration.

Children are invited to come and ‘Trick or Treat’ at businesses throughout uptown and Main Street will be closed to thru traffic for the safety of all the kids.

From 3:30 until 5:30 uptown businesses will be passing out candy and there will be lots of fun activities for the kids, including a costume contest! Whether you are dressing up as a superhero, a ghoul, a goblin or a fairy princess, you could win some neat prizes just for stopping by Pancera Plaza at 4:00p.m., and entering the free contest.

Fun prizes, from sponsors like Margie’s Book Nook, will be awarded in a variety of age groups and categories and Miss Lassen and her court will be there to help.

Always popular, last year’s contest featured more than one hundred fantastic entries.

Even the pets have their own costume contest, which will be held in the LMUD parking lot at the corner of Main and Gay Streets.

The big uptown party will feature music by a DJ and dance performances by Joan’s Studio of Dance and J and J Performing Arts.

For more information call the Chamber at 1.530.257.4323.
