Susanville’s traditional Veteran’s Day Parade has been derailed because of COVID-19 precautions, but Susanville has found a way to honor all of those who have served in the United States military today on Main Street.
According to the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce there will be a procession of vehicles beginning at 11:00a.m., that will travel up Main Street from the Jensen Hall parking lot at the fairgrounds, turning right at Weatherlow and ending in front of Memorial Park on North Street.
This year members of the public are invited to be a part of the procession and are asked to follow along behind the Government vehicles.
Organizers ask that people along the route who want to watch the parade do so in a vehicle ‘as to not create a large group’.
They also ask the public not to congregate in large groups at the end of the procession.
If you want to be a part of the procession event staging is at 10:30 and vehicles arriving at the Jensen Hall staging area will be directed to pull behind the last vehicle in line.
The procession will remain in the lane closest to the curb and drivers need to obey traffic laws and light signals.
