Video: Susanville Police Department Tips and Suggestions

The Susanville Police Department has released another in their series of YouTube video tips and suggestions aimed at making Lassen County a safer place to live.

The latest video, featuring Patrol Officer Horton and Lieutenant Matt Wood, discusses ‘crimes of opportunity’ which often result in property theft. Tips include keeping doors and windows secured and your valuables out of sight.

Officer Horton also suggests that you make a detailed list of all your valuable possessions, including make, model and serial number, to aid in recovery of stolen items.

“The Susanville Police Department,” explains Chief Tom Downing, “is trying to connect with the public in every way possible, and the use of social media is a great way to assist us with meeting that objective.”

“Officer Horton has embraced the video public safety announcement project and is a valuable asset to our police department and this community.”

Downing said that with so many people receiving news and information online it only seemed appropriate that the department share information online as well.
