Westwood Community Services District is telling Westwood residents, on a recommendation from the state level, to boil drinking water until results from water testing have been received.
According to WCSD spokesperson Susan Coffi the springs which feed the district’s water supply turned cloudy shortly after last night’s 5.7 earthquake. Westwood is about 12 miles from the epicenter.
Water should be boiled for at least 5 minutes before human consumption.
There is no estimated time for the boil order to be lifted, but water sample tests could be completed as early as Saturday.
