Westwood High School FFA: Meet Our Kids

Stop by the Lassen County Fair This Week and Say Hello!

Introducing Abraham Acosta and his Lamb, Chapo. This is Abrahams first year showing a market animal with Westwood FFA. Abraham has been a major asset to our barn.
He is always willing to help whenever he can! Come see Abraham and Chapo at the Lassen County Fair! The Lamb show will be Wednesday July 19th starting at 8:00 am!

Introducing Alasia Williams and her hog, Marlow! This is Alasia’s second year showing hogs. Alasia remains a steady part of Westwood FFA including holding the title of this years a treasurer. You can catch her at nearly every FFA event held! Alasia and Marlow have been working hard up at the barn to prepare for this years fair! Alasia and Marlow invite you to come watch them in action. The Hog show is Thursday, July 20th at 8:00 am!

Introducing Reece Gibbs and his hog Buckle. Reece is a freshman making this his first year with Westwood FFA. Reece has been super motivated and consistent with his hog making his days long at our barn. Reece also holds the title of an officer as this coming school years Sentinel. We look forward to watching Reece grow in our chapter! Reece and Buckle invite you to the Hog show at the Lassen County Fair on Thursday July 20th at 8:00 am!

Introducing: Ethan Lutes and his Lamb, Pablo! This is Ethan’s first year in FFA and showing as well. Ethan has been nothing short of exceptional tending to his lamb! Ethan is one of a kind and keeps us all laughing all the time! Ethan and Pablo invite you to the Lamb show Wednesday July 19th at 8:00 am!

Introducing: Merilyn Baehler and her steer Sir Francis! This is Merilyn’s third year showing animals at the Lassen County Fair, her second showing Steer. Merilyn is the President of our chapter and will hold the title next year as well. Most days you can find Merilyn at the barn bathing Sir Francis to maintain his white coat! Merilyn and Sir Francis invite you to watch the Steer show on Friday July 21st at 8:00 am. It’s sure to be a grand feature!

Introducing: Ryan Nelson and his lamb Wendy. This is Ryan’s first year in FFA and showing a market animal! Ryan and Wendy have been preparing for fair by daily walks and practicing show! We look forward to seeing Ryan’s role in the Westwood FFA chapter! Ryan and Wendy invite you to watch their Lamb Show Wednesday July 19th at 8:00 am!

Introducing: Madison Baehler & her hog Peaches N’ Cream. This is Madison’s 3rd year showing hogs! Madison spends most of her time at our barn, last year Madison introduced Dairy Goat breeding into our chapter. She has successfully bred 3 times over the past two years! It has been a huge learning curve for her and our entire chapter. Madison held the title of historian her first year and treasurer her second. We can confidently say Madison is one of our most dedicated animal loving members, always willing to give her knowledge to all kids at the barn! Madison and Peaches invites you to watch the Hog Show on Thursday July 20th at 8:00 am!Ā 

Introducing: Kasen Gunn & Elijah Scott and their Ag Mechanics Bench. The boys have spent many many hours figuring out the perfect dimensions to make their bench come to fruition. Both using their skills from Wood Shop and Welding to make it happen! You can purchase this beautiful piece of furniture right after the Junior livestock auction on Sunday July 23rd!

Introducing Jacelynn Haro-Holguin and her hog Gordita. This is Jacelynn’s 3rd year in FFA but her first year showing market animals. Jacelynn’s journey has been nothing short of interesting! She has had one obstacle after another, Jacelynn has shown great persistence with her hog overcoming every single one of them! Jacelynn has been an officer for two years now holding the title of Secretary! Jacelynn and Gordita invite you to the hog show on Thursday July 20th at 8:00 am!

Introducing: Ethan Gurnee and his hog Carmen! This is Ethan’s second year with our chapter but his first showing an animal at the Lassen County Fair! Ethan has spent many hours up at our barn either making people laugh or bonding his his hog Carmen!
Ethan was last years Historian and will be this coming years Reporter! Ethan and Carmen invite you to the hog show on Thursday July 20th at 8:00 am!

Introducing Kasen Gunn and his Lamb! This is Kasen’s third year showing a Lamb and fourth year in FFA. Kasen is a CTE Completer in Agricultural Mechanics! Kasen has always been helpful and involved all four years! Kasen and his Lamb invite you to watch the Lamb show Wednesday July 19th at 8:00 am!
