If sweetness had a human form, it would come in the shape of Sarah Stafford. Now, little miss Sarah (aka Sarah Bunn) was brought into my life by former co-worker Jake Stafford. I tease Jake a lot, but one thing I will never tease him about is his good fortune and good taste in choosing a spouse. He hit the jackpot with Sarah.
Years ago, when the two were dating and I first met her, I absolutely adored her right away. Sarah has this innate ability to connect with people and has this sweet charm about her. I like to think that I’m a good judge of character when it comes to someone being genuine or not, and Sarah is as genuine as it gets. She is sweet as can be – just a wonderful human.
When I worked at the police department, I loved being shift mates with Jake because that meant I got the treats Sarah would make, and boy can that woman cook and bake. If we got stuck working a holiday, Sarah would always prepare special treats not only for Jake, but for everyone in the office.
Then, there would be days I would come in and find her famous cookie bin in the kitchen and knew that she made a large batch of cookies “just cause.” Her chocolate chip cookies are famous.
Sarah is now the mother of a cute little Munchkin, and being a momma suits her. You can tell she simply loves being a mother and makes it look so easy. I love looking at pictures of her and her family as they write their story.
The other thing that I appreciate about Sarah is that no matter how busy the occasion, Sarah always makes it a point to acknowledge everyone. If I am standing next to my husband, not only does Sarah say hi to me, but she also greets Frankie, and my children.
Giving them all due to respect, and just making them feel like they matter. Can you imagine if the entire world was full of little Sarahs that went around making everyone feel as if they were important?
Sarah worked at the prison, and I know for a fact she was adored there as well. She has an easy-going disposition and is very bright. Of course, they would love her. How could anyone not find her anything but wonderful?
Sarah is a bright spot in our community. Anyone that ever would need help, could find it from Sarah. No judgement, no need to beg or be repaid, she is just that type of person. I am so happy that even though I don’t work with her hubby anymore, I still get to call this wonderful person my friend and get the honor of watching her beautiful little girl grow up!
And when little Cynthia is old enough, I will make sure to tell her why her momma is one of the reasons I love where we live.
