With this beautiful weather we have been experiencing, what a great time to mention the 8th annual Rabies Clinic which is scheduled for June 5th!
This clinic, which serves as an easy and discounted way to vaccinate your canine family members and register them within the city or county, has blossomed into a community event that I am so glad is back!
The Clinic features two of our favorite community veterinarians, (Dr. Taylor and Nelson’s Veterinary Services) who will be onsite, administering the rabies vaccines to keep our furry friends safe and protected.
However aside from simply vaccinating and registering your doggies, through a lot of hard work by the organizers (shout out to my sweet friends Kim Warren and Ms. Donna from the LCSO) the event has truly become a family event.
Throughout the morning, you can enjoy presentations from R&R Huskies and Dog Rides, Training Demonstrations by Sit Spot, as well as buy some delicious grub from the Susanville Police Explorers.
How our community can turn just about anything into a community event, where you can, like always get out and see your neighbors, socialize with people you went to high school with, speak to your favorite Veterinarian, etc, is something I find truly special about living where we do.
This will be the 8th year, and of course, the event is hosted in Memorial Park, which as you all know, is another one of our community treasures. It’s a great day to come down, scratch an item off of your to do list, while having fun, enjoying the beautiful weather, seeing your fellow community members, and just supporting this great event.
Heck, even if you don’t have a dog, you should still come down and say hi, and just see our wonderful community in action.
