Lassen Municipal Utility District Board of Directors President Daren Hagata announced, after the board’s April 16th special meeting, that effective today, Doug Smith will resign his position as LMUD’s General Manager.
The board agreed to pay Smith 3-months salary and he will retain his medical benefits according to LMUD Public Relations Manager Theresa Phillips.
“The announcement also included that Smith resigned during an active investigation that had not yet been completed at the time of resignation,” explained Phillips.
Also, the board appointed LMUD’s assistant general manager, Pat Holley as interim GM.
The board directed staff to prepare a job announcement for the vacant GM job which will be advertised as soon as it is completed.
