A Susanville man was arrested on multiple firearms and narcotics-related charges Tuesday morning after a Deputy from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office pulled him over near Commercial Road.

The Deputy stopped the white Ford pickup at around 9:00a.m., and, after contacting the driver and passenger of the pickup, learned the driver was on felony parole and could be in possession of a firearm.

“During a search,” explains LCSO Lieutenant David Woginrich, “the deputy located and seized a loaded .380 caliber pistol, approximately 32.2 grams (1.13 ounces) of suspected methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.”

The driver, identified by the LCSO as 34-year old Susanville resident Ceasar Lucatero, and the passenger, identified as 40-year old Westwood resident Melanie Hines, were arrested and booked into the Lassen County Jail.

“Lucatero is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed with a Loaded Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited Person in Possession of Ammunition, and Parole Violation. Hines is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.”

According to Woginrich, Lucatero’s bail has been set at $35,000. Hines’ bail has been set at $22,500.

The Sheriff’s Office thanked the Susanville Police Department and California Department of Corrections Parole for their assistance in this incident.
