RENEGADES SPLIT WITH WALKOFF WIN
The Susanville Renegades hosted the Galena Silver Sox on Saturday June 8th at Memorial Park. The Renegades lost the opener 11-3. It was a close game at 5-3 in the sixth inning when the Silver Sox erupted for 6 runs to seal the victory. Hunter Morris, Tommy Sharpe, Ryan Sharpe, Daniel Perry and Adrik Yacelga each had one hit for Susanville.
In the second game of the doubleheader the fans witnessed on one of the more exciting games in recent in recent history. The game went back and forth and with Galena leading 5-4 in the bottom of the 7th the Renegades got a break when Galena committed and error on Hunter Morris to start the inning. Adrik Yacelga laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt. After a strikeout Ryan Sharpe singled and went to second when Galena threw home to cut off the run. With runners now on second and third and two outs the count went full on Jacob Hatzell. After fouling off numerous pitches he lined a single to score two runs and the Renegades stormed out of the dugout to mob Hatzell. The Renegades got a big win over the previously unbeaten Silver Sox. Garrison Collier went 5 innings and gave up four runs. Izak Davenport pitched the sixth inning and Daniel Perry pitch a three up three down seventh inning. Offensively, Daniel Perry had three hits and Adrik Yacelga, Jake Hatzell, Ryan Sharpe, and Skylar Ingwerson each had two. The Renegades are currently 3-3 on the season.
