Susanville Renegades Held Wood Bat Tournament

Miners Win Tourney

The Nevada Union Miners of Grass Valley won the third annual Thomas Tucker American Legion Tournament with a 3-1 record. The Susanville Renegades, last year’s winner, finished with a 2-2 record after losing their final game to the Miners 9-0.

 

Susanville open with a 3-1 win over Chico on Friday. Garrison Collier was impressive going the distance for a complete game win. Logan Loflin singled in the third and Daniel Perry and Colby followed with back to back doubles for a 2-0 lead. The Renegades picked up an unearned run in the fourth inning. Ryan Sharpe, Jarrell Cunningham, and Jaylin Ford each had a hit for Susanville.

 

In the second game the Renegades loss a tough game to the South County Sun Devils of Redding 5-3.  Ryan Sharpe, Jarrell Cunningham, and Hunter Morris each had two hits for Susanville. Daniel Perry, Adrik Yacelga, and Logan Loflin each had one.

 

On Saturday Susanville opened with a 10-3 win over the Reno Muckdogs. Jarrell Cunningham went the distance on the mound for the Renegades. Colby Chavez led the hit parade with three.  Adrik Yacelga, Daniel Perry and Jaylin Ford each had two hits.

 

The Renegades ended the tournament with a disappointing loss the Miners on Saturday night. They faced a very tough left hander who threw a four hitter and struck out seven. Colby Chavez and Ryan Sharpe each had two hits for the home team.
