This Friday is Locals Night at the Fairgrounds’ Cowboy Festival

The two-day Cowboy Festival at the Lassen County Fairgrounds begins Friday with Locals Night, brought to you by the Lassen County Arts Council, featuring some talented cowboy musicians, singers, poets and storytellers.

Admission to the Lassen County Arts Council sponsored event is free and the evening’s fun kicks off at 6:00p.m. The Arts Council will have a cash and credit bar set up so you can enjoy beverages during the performances.

The vendor hall, filled with cowboy crafts and collectibles, will be open Friday night from 5:00 to 8:00.

Friday Evening’s Entertainment Lineup

Friday night will feature a free Local Talent Showcase hosted by Master of Ceremonies Richard Elloyan, a 2018 International Western Music Association Songwriter of the Year, twice nominated for Song of the Year by the IWMA.

Elloyan’s music has been recorded by several award-winning Western Music artists and he is a regular on the western music circuit, appearing at the National Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival in Elko, Nevada, the Colorado Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival in Golden, Colorado, Vinton, California, Arizona among others.

He will be playing and reciting his own poems and songs throughout the evening, in between local showcase performances.

Along with Elloyan, the evening will feature Gregg McDonald, a storyteller from Standish, Laurel Paulson-Pierce, a folk singer from Westwood and the Stone and Straw Family Band from Chester.
