AAA Susanville, in partnership with the Susanville Fire Department, will be hosting a fire safety event to increase awareness of fire safety best practices as well as ensuring the residents of Susanville have properly installed and functioning smoke detectors.
The Fire Department will have their Fire Safe house to teach children what to do in the event of a fire. They will also be conducting fire extinguisher training and setting appointments for free home smoke detector installation or check-up.
AAA Susanville will be providing home safety tips and passing out materials on how to prepare your home for fire season. A tow-truck will also be on hand to conduct free battery and tire pressure checks. Refreshments will be served.
This new partnership between AAA Susanville and the Susanville Fire Department is part of AAA’s ongoing efforts to support local first responder organizations in an effort to help local communities learn how we can all work together to become stronger, safer and more prepared.
In June, AAA Susanville presented Susanville Fire Department with a $5,000 donation to support their volunteer efforts and educational outreach.
The fire safety event will be held today, August 17th, from 10:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., at 2920 Main Street in Susanville.
