Wildfire Bulletin: Fire Crews Responding to Several Lightning Starts Near Walker Lake

According to Lassen County Emergency Services Chief Eric Ewing the fire is burning about one mile east of Homer Lake on Keddie Ridge south of Westwood.  The fire is approximately one acre in size with two engines, two hand crews and one water tender on scene.

Westwood resident Diana Desfosses described the scene along Keddie Ridge from the old mill depot in Westwood, “There is one area that is getting bigger burning at the top and lights below it, probably in the area where the dirt road goes over into Greenville.”

Updated 9:01p.m.  Strike teams for structure protection are responding to the fires.

8:30p.m. 

A massive lightning event tonight south of Westwood has sparked several vegetation fires in timber near Walker Lake and Keddie Ridge.
