Hanson Out, Hammond In: Final Results Certified in Lassen District 5 Recall

Lassen County’s Registrar of Voters Julie Bustamante has announced the final certified results of last week’s special election held to recall Lassen District 5 Supervisor Jack Hanson.

The special election was held in the 14 precincts of the district last Tuesday, and with 39.52 percent of the registered voters weighing in Supervisor Jack Hanson has been recalled by a vote of 578 to 351.

With the success of the recall bid voters in the district had a chance to vote on Hanson’s replacement, electing Tom Hammond by a 91.85 margin.

Bustamante explained that the Certified Statement of Vote will be presented to the Lassen County Board of Supervisors at their September 24th, meeting and the Supervisors will be asked to declare the results as per Election Code Section 15400.

Hammond will be sworn-in by the County Clerk and take his Oath of Office in the old courtroom, upstairs in the Historic Courthouse, located at 220 S Lassen Street, Suite 5, at 3:00p.m. on September 24th.
