Despite the snow we had last night the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce’s Magical Country Christmas event will go on as planned this afternoon from 5:00 to 6:30.
City crews have worked hard to clear out snow that accumulated overnight and according to to the chamber’s Executive Director Patti Hagata the only real concession to the weather has been to start the Christmas Parade a little earlier than planned.
The party starts at 5:00p.m. on Main Street, which will be closed to traffic for the event, and around 5:15 live entertainment begins.
Businesses in uptown will stay open late so you can browse and shop while getting into the festive spirit of the evening.
At around 5:50 the Magical Country Christmas parade will start, with floats, dancers and participants moving up Main Street to the tree in front of the Elk’s Lodge. The big finale of the parade will be the arrival of Santa and fireworks!
