JH Heating Weather: NWS Issues Winter Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Lassen and Plumas counties in effect from 2:00p.m. Monday to 5:00a.m. Tuesday for elevations above 5,000 feet.

According to the weather service snow will begin Monday afternoon with heaviest snowfall Monday evening into Monday night.

Snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches above 5000 feet west of Highway 395. Up to 2 inches elsewhere.

Snow will produce reduced visibility along with slick roads. Expect chain controls at times Monday night into early  Tuesday morning… especially over higher elevations including Yuba Pass… Fredonyer Summit and Highway 44 west of Susanville.

Roads will become slick and hazardous… with snow and ice first developing on bridges and overpasses. Motorists should slow down and use caution.
