The students of the Susanville Academy of Music will be performing a recital on March 24th at the United Methodist Church on South Lassen street.
The three groups performing will be the Beginning Band, the Beginning Strings and the Intermediate Strings under the direction of Academy Director Carol Fontana.
Academy classes are offered to anyone 8 years old and older including adults. “It is the first step,” explains Fontana, “to being able to play an instrument and play with others.”
The special concert begins at 7:00p.m. and while admission is free, donations will be accepted at the door.
Local quilter Marilyn Sue Chapman has donated a beautiful quilt to be raffled off. The quilt will be on display at Tuesday’s recital and raffle tickets can be purchased at the door.
All proceeds from the raffle benefit the Academy of Music.
