The Lassen County Historical Society will be hosting a special evening with George Sargent in uptown Susanville’s landmark Grand Café on Wednesday, September 21st. The Café, which opened in 1935, was run by the Sargent family for more than 50 years and is a snapshot of a time gone by.
Many Susanville residents can remember eating at the Grand Café over the years – a pleasant family run establishment with good quality food. It was a meeting place for civic organizations and a place to hang out with friends. Wonderful memories abound in the little uptown diner.
Everyone is invited to come relive the heyday of the Café as George Sargent tells stories about his family, and the Grand Café, over the years.
The presentation begins at 7:00p.m. and there is limited seating. Admission is free.
