City Staff Teaming Up With Volunteers for Today’s River Cleanup

The City of Susanville is teaming up with volunteers today for a River Clean-up along the Susan River. The effort includes the Fire Department, the Police Department, Public Works and Administrative Services. Only a skeleton crew will be manning City Hall while the staff is out working with volunteers.

Volunteers are scheduled to work from 10:00a.m. until 3:00p.m. and will be escorted by four police officers to ensure their safety.

If you would like to get involved you are asked to meet at Pat Murphy Little League Field at 10:00a.m.

According to City officials they intend to help make an impact and to lessen the burden for volunteers as they maintain a clean Susan River throughout the year.

The city will provide bags, gloves, picker-uppers, haz suits and sharps containers.

Axia Home Loans will be partnering with Chicago Title, Walmart, Susanville IGA, Grocery Outlet, Diamond Mountain Casino, Susanville Dental Care and the Susanville Symphony to provide complimentary lunches and beverages to the crew of 200 Susanville City Staffers and volunteers who will be working on the river.

If you are part of that effort, stop by Axia’s parking lot at 2940 Riverside Drive for hot dogs, chips, hot cocoa, tea, etc.
