Bandit Wounded in Holdup Attempt
November 18, 1932

T. Stoy, who operates the service station at the intersection of the Susanville and Loyalton highways, north of Reno, yesterday shot and wounded a man who attempted to hold him up.

The bandit drove up to the filling station, got out of his car and ordered Stoy to put his hands up. Instead of complying, Stoy drew an automatic and shot the man.

The wounded man jumped into his car and fled toward Reno, Stoy said.

Local police and the sheriff’s office had not apprehended the man last night.
