It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond Attilio Berettini announces his passing on June 27, 2018 at the age of 89. Ray was born April 2, 1929 in Dunsmuir California to Attilio and Emma Berettini. He moved to Susanville when he was a Sophmore, graduating from Lassen High School with the class of 1947. Ray earned an Associate of Arts degree in Business from Lassen College and an Associate of Arts degree in Fire Science from Western Nevada College. He holds a lifetime Fire Science Teaching Credential.

Margaret was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 3, 1922 to Maria Bruno Giamo and Benedetto Giamo. There she grew to love and learn all the wonderful traditions of her Italian family. Margaret was a wonderful cook who took delight in serving her Italian dishes and baking Italian cookies to share with her family and neighbors. Walter "Irvin" Johnson
Born August 10, 1946, in San Francisco, CA to Walter Nelson Johnson and Barbara Beatrice Morris and was their sixth child in a family of seven children. Irvin passed away peacefully at his residence, in Standish, surrounded by his immediate family, on June 3, 2018, at the age of 71. After finding out he had cancer in April 2018.

Stuart “Stu” Raymond Smith, 58, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 near his home in Janesville, California, where his work family tried to revive him of a heart attack. Stuart was born June 30, 1959 to Fred and Elizabeth (McNearney) Smith in Bakersfield, and spent his childhood with his brother, Michael Smith, in Porterville, where he had fond memories of hunting rabbits and playing baseball.

Delmar was laid to rest May 31st, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. There was a Military Grave Side Service at Diamond Crest Cemetery Susanville, CA followed by a gathering at the Veterans Hall downstairs after the graveside service.

Allen passed away May 26th, 2018 in Reno NV. Allen was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota April 19th, 1954 to Ardith and Everet Thompson. Allen was a 20-year Navy Veteran of the U.S. Navy, after his retirement he started work with the state and retired in 2015.
Allen grew up fishing, hunting and loving the outdoors, and he carried that over into his adult life.

Maudie Belle Faure passed away peacefully at Oak River Nursing Facility in Anderson, CA on May 22, 2018. Maudie was born in Susanville, CA on March 4, 1925. She married Frank Joseph Faure on September 14, 1940. They had 57 ½ years together before Frank passed in 1998.
Maudie and Frank owned and operated various businesses in Susanville including Flying A Associates gas station, The Cedars restaurant, Frank's Rambler and Nash Dealership, Frank's Radiator and Glass Co and the Hill Creek Ranch. They spent time following their son and his animals during the FFA show years between 1958 and 1963.

Rose was born in Susanville on October 8, 1925, to Eugenio and Benita Ezquer. When she was 8, the family moved back to Spain where they lived for the next 19 years. Rose grew up in Burgui, Navarra, then moved to Pamplona after the Spanish Civil War ended. The family eventually moved back to Susanville in the 1950s, at which time Rose and her sister, Maria, both began working at Lassen Memorial Hospital. Rose worked at the hospital as a dietician for 10 years.

Joyce Marie Stock passed away on May 9, 2018 from complications due to Alzheimer’s disease. She was born to Albert “Lucky” and Mary Ellen McFarland in Klamath Falls, Oregon on August 14, 1943. She moved to Susanville at a young age and attended local schools, including Lassen High, where she made several very close friends. She married Albino “Al” Quarisa in 1961 and her first born child, Dennis Ray, was born in 1963. After Al’s sudden passing in 1963, Joyce married Robert “Bob” Stock in 1965 and they had two daughters, Tara Lea and Sherri Lynn.
