Quick work and favorable conditions helped firefighters contain a small grass fire that burned Monday afternoon just west of Susanville on the shoulder of Highway 36. The fire punctuates just how dry conditions it is in Lassen County this winter.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene including Susan River Fire Protection District, Cal-Fire, Lassen Co. Sheriff’s Department, Susanville Police Department and the U.S. Forest Service.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
