Units from the California Highway Patrol, Susanville Police Department and the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office were involved in a high-speed pursuit Sunday evening that ended when the driver struck a tree and fled on foot.
The suspect led pursuers on a chase that covered a lot of ground in the city; up Main Street to N. Roop and then out to Paiute Lane, up and back down the dirt portion of Paiute Lane and then back across town where the pursuit ended in the 400 block of Richmond Road.
The suspect attempted to flee on foot but officers were able to subdue and apprehend him.
According to details released on the police department’s Facebook page late Sunday evening the driver was booked into the Lassen County Jail on several felony charges.
