The Lassen County Office of Education partnered with Sierra Cascade Family Opportunities for the 7th Annual Family Connections Conference on Saturday, March 15th, at Jensen Hall at the Lassen County Fairgrounds.
This free community event welcomed parents, grandparents, foster parents, childcare providers and anyone in a caregiving role to participate in a day of learning, connection and family enrichment.
This year’s theme focused on “Creating a Connected Family,” with guest speakers Kjessie and Andre Essue leading engaging discussions on strengthening family bonds.
With more than 95 attendees, the event provided a meaningful opportunity for caregivers to gain valuable insights and tools for fostering strong, connected relationships with the children in their lives.
Throughout the day, participants enjoyed a variety of hands-on activities and community resources, including:
- Herb planting with CalFresh Healthy Living, where families took home small plants to nurture.
- A delicious lunch provided by Snow Mountain Chalet.
- A resource fair, featuring many local organizations offering support and services to families.
- A vision board activity, where attendees created personal and family goals while receiving special gifts to take home.
