The Lassen County Office of Education has launched Family University, a new initiative designed to connect families, students, and communities in the pursuit of educational success.
As part of the Family and Community Engagement Program, Family University offers a variety of engaging events, mini-online lessons, and community pop-ups that provide valuable resources to support students from preschool through 12th grade.
One highlight of the program is the Family University Pop-Up Night, a fun, interactive event that brings families and schools together to support student success. Through engaging mini-workshops and hands-on activities, parents and guardians gain tools to help with academics, emotional resilience, and personal growth.
These events foster community, strengthen family involvement, and provide valuable resources for student support in a collaborative atmosphere. Stay tuned for the first pop up event.
Family University also offers Empowered Adult workshop sessions, which equip parents and guardians with effective strategies for fostering student growth and well-being. Topics such as homework support, emotional resilience, and academic goal-setting are tailored to students’ developmental needs at each grade level.
These workshops provide actionable insights that help families support their children’s success.
Families can also benefit from interactive mini-sessions, quick under-six-minute videos packed with practical tips for academic and emotional support. Each session includes a fun family activity to reinforce learning, making it easy for busy families to engage and boost their children’s educational journey.
