Lassen Senior Services will be hosting their second annual barbecue fundraiser August 13th at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. LSS is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing programs and services which will enhance the health and well being of the senior citizens here in Lassen County.
The cook-off will feature slow-cooked and smoked meats in four categories – chicken, ribs, pork and brisket – with prizes for tastiest meats awarded by expert judges! Everyone who attends the barbecue will get a chance to vote for a special ‘people’s choice’ award.
Along with some great cooking you can also enjoy live entertainment and the parking lot will be filled with vendors and their unique crafts.
The competition truly gets underway the night before as the cooks begin slowly creating their masterpieces.
The cook-off starts at 11:00a.m., Saturday and you can stop by and grab something to eat all day long.
