The Lassen Community College English Department is presenting Night of the Cinephile this Friday on the school’s campus. Focusing on films of cultural, historic and artistic significance the evening will feature a free showing of the 2014 film Black Sea.
In order to make good with his former employers a submarine captain takes a job with a shadowy backer to search the depths of the Black Sea for a submarine rumored to be loaded with gold in this British film directed by Kevin MacDonald.
The lecture series is open to everyone interested in learning about the history and cultural impact of the cinema.
The movie will be shown in Middleton Hall beginning at 5:30 Friday evening. Popcorn, candy and soda will be provided by the college.
