Union Musicians Elated with Dance
December 27, 1939

The Musicians’ dance at the Story Club is heralded as a grand success, approximately 150 couples attending.

Special entertainment features were provided by Nicholas Mondoray and Shirley Gordon Lamar in a Russian Gypsy tango, “Dark Eyez,” and an oriental dance by Miss Lamar. Dorothy Madden Sang “blues” selections, Gloria Lucerno appeared in versatile numbers and Betty Lou of the Red Feather sang popular selections.

President George Mix of Westwood of the Musicians’’ union expressed the thanks of all who participated in the arrangements and program, thoroughly elated with this first social effort for the union in Susanville.

After doing this special numbers, someone got away with one of Mondoray’s dancing slippers, just like in the movies Sunday. He hopes it will be returned and the “taker” will call on him for the other one.
