Utility Company Spending $185,300

California Pacific Utilities co., is planning to spend $185,300 this coming year on improving facilities in the area, A. U. Zimmerman, announced.
New substations will be installed in Milwood and at Westwood. Additional lines in Susanville are planned, and expansion of Susanville street lighting system. On the yearly preventative maintenance program, 50 poles on the Susanville-Standish line are to be replaced.
Zimmerman said that the electric system in the Fruit Growers Supply co., townsite is being completely rebuilt since the utilities company took it over several months ago, and larger electric capacity is being provided.
Checks totaling $6,026.67 were presented to the city of Susanville and Lassen county recently as franchise tax payments by California-Pacific Utilities. The city received a check for $4,058.15, Lassen county $1,968.52 and Plumas county $570.20 from the power company.
