Walter Long Goes Off Antelope Grade
January 11, 1920

Last Monday, while on his way north with Uncle Sam’s mail Walter Long, driver of the stage, met with one of the old-time accidents for which the Antelope Grade north of town was famous.

His team was acting badly, and one of the horses went off the grade taking the entire outfit with him.

Walter was pitched out when the stage upset and received severe bruises about the head.

The stage turned over several times and the horses were piled in a heap.

Fortunately, the damage, considering the nature of the accident and the place where it occurred, was comparatively slight, and Walter has been going about as usual, but with his head pretty heavily bandaged.
