Machines From Susanville and Westwood Lined Either Side Bridge

An unusually large crowd was on hand last Sunday at Devil’s Corral when the new bridge over Susan River was formally opened to the public.

A beautiful day combined with the natural beauty of the region around Devil’s Corral made the occasion one long to be remembered by those on hand.

Machines from Susanville and Westwood lined the side of the road for a great distance on either side of the bridge.

Miss Florence Sorsoli represented Susanville and Miss Letitia Dow represented Westwood at the ceremonies. A. J. Mathews, Assemblyman for this district, was Chairman of the day.

Speeches were made by B. F. Lyle, Jules Alexander, Joe Hunter, M. E. Ditmarr, C. J. Mitchell, H. G. Oates, and Bert Burroughs, who was scheduled to speak, was unable to appear as he has been called to Chico owing to the death of his brother.
