Lmud Systemwide Outage: Repairs Underway for LMUD Customers

6:50am: LMUD crews, with the aid of Plumas Sierra Rural Electric crews, completed repairs on the damaged transmission lines at approximately 2:30am morning. Honey Lake Power has also completed repairs to their equipment and we are anticipating that the islanding process will begin late this morning. If all goes well, we hope to have power restored to our system by late this afternoon. We will post updates as they become available. Further, to help expedite the process and to eliminate system overload, please unplug or turn off appliances, lights and other devices. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

UPDATE: 8:00pm: LMUD crews are working around the clock to repair our damaged transmission lines. We still do not have an estimated time of restoration. Due to the fact that Honey Lake Power plant is not operational, we are advising customers to prepare for an extended outage. The power may be out for TWO DAYS or longer. We will post information as it is available.

UPDATE: 4:49pm: Due to the Hog Fire, both of LMUD’s main transmission lines have sustained extensive damage. LMUD had been receiving power from Honey Lake Power, however at approximately 3:15pm today, HLP went offline and LMUD lost power to our entire system, with the exception of Westwood and Pinetown. At this time, crews are working to rebuild one of the transmission lines so that we can restore power to the system. There is no current estimated time of restoration. The power will not be restored tonight. We will make updates available every four hours as information is provided.

OUTAGE ALERT: With the exception of Westwood and Pinetown, LMUD is experiencing a system-wide outage. At this there is no estimated time of restoration. We will make information available as it becomes available. To enroll in our outage text alert system text the letters LMUD, to 877-754-7697.
