The results are in from Lassen Senior Services’ second annual barbecue fundraiser held last Saturday at the Lassen County Fairgrounds.
The cook-off featured slow-cooked and smoked meats in four categories – chicken, ribs, pork and brisket – with prizes for tastiest meats awarded by expert judges.
And the results are…
BBQ Chicken: Pete Johnson 1st; Leo Betti 2nd; Jamie Welch 3rd.
Ribs: Jamie Welch 1st; Pete Johnson 2nd; Dusty Vaughn 3rd.
Pork: Pete Johnson 1st; Jamie Welch 2nd, Dusty Vaughn 3rd.
Brisket: Dusty Vaughn 1st; Leo Betti 2nd; Jamie Welch 3rd.
Grillmaster was Jamie Welch and people’s choice went to Joe Comino.
In the Backyard division Tyler Morrish took first in Chicken and in Pork.
LSS is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing programs and services which will enhance the health and well being of the senior citizens here in Lassen County.
