phonescamAnother phone scam is targeting customers of Lassen Municipal Utility District according to the utility’s Energy Services Manager, Theresa Phillips.

“LMUD has received information from several customers indicating that they have received automated voice notifications that their power will be disconnected,” explains Phillips, “Please be aware that LMUD does not leave automated messages regarding disconnections or any other LMUD matter.”

“We are trying to get more information on the exact nature of these calls,” said Keri Richards, LMUD Business Office Manager, “If you have any doubts about any phone calls from someone claiming to be the power or electric company, please call the LMUD office at 257-4174.”
