Richard Edward Martin, 74, passed away peacefully in his Susanville home on April 18th, 2025, after a long battle of Cancer. Richard was born on July 12, 1950, in San Antonio Texas to Maria Martinez and Ignacio Sarabia. He was later adopted by Reverend Raymond Martin. He was a resident of Lassen County for the last 37 years.
He is survived by his children Ronnie Jay Martin, Ronnie Lee Martin, Richard Martin, Rebecca Martin, Rachel (Martin) Valerga, Cassandra (Martin) Sanson, Justin Martin, Rabekkah Martin, Destinee Gibson, Karah Smith, James Dilley and Arielle Cowan.
He is survived by his grandchildren Marcella Martin, Richard Martin, Anthony Martin, Ciera Barron, Michael Valerga, Dante Valerga, Vito Valerga, Antonio Valerga, Dimitrius Valerga, Jonathan Dahlen Jr, Jaxon Sanson, Jaidynn Sanson, Jarrett Agee, Jasper Brady, Rebel Brady, Chloe Gibson, Isaiah Gibson, Trenton Holt, Shayne Smith, Lillian Dilley, Zayin Smith, Tempest Cowan, Lucian Cowan, Autumn Cowan and LesLey Cowan. As well as his Great grandchildren Lottie, Zion, Samsung, Ricardo, Lillianna, Asher and Killian.
He is also survived by his brothers Herminio Sarabia, and Pedro Sarabia, His sisters Carmen Ramirez, Mariana Sarabia and Comcha Sarabia. As well as his estranged wife, Janie Martin, who he recently reconnected with after being apart for 50 years. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members not mentioned.
He is preceded in Death by his parents Maria, Ignacio and Raymond. His sisters Perla, Alicia, and Lilia. His brothers Ignacio Jr, and Saul. As well as his grandson Orrick Liam Alan Agee.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday May 9th at 12pm at the Westwood Community Center, located at 3rd and Birch in Westwood, Ca. Followed by a potluck, to gather and share memories and stories of Richard. The family is requesting everyone bring a dish to share; however, it is not required.
