Sheriff’s Office Seeking Information About Westwood Shooting Incident

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding a shooting incident that occurred in Westwood early Thursday morning.

At around 2:00a.m., according to the Sheriff’s Office report, the county’s dispatch center received a 911 call regarding shots fired in the area of Delwood Street at State Route 36 in Westwood.

“Upon arrival,” explains LCSO Captain Mike Carney, “deputies canvassed the area and were unable to locate anything suspicious. Approximately 20-30 minutes later, the Lassen County Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a male subject who stated he had been shot.”

The male subject refused to provide dispatchers with any further information and hung up.

“Deputies eventually located the victim in the front yard of an address on Parkwood Drive in Pinetown. The victim, was suffering from a gunshot wound to his left thigh. The victim continued to refuse to provide deputies with any information regarding the incident.”

The victim was transported to Banner Lassen Hospital and subsequently flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno for treatment.
