Susanville PD Arrests Man with Handgun

According to a release from the Susanville Police Department, on September 5th at approximately 3:00 pm, officers responded to the Memorial Park area on a report of a male subject with a handgun.

On arrival officers contacted a male subject who stated that another male riding a bicycle, who he knew, had approached him. The suspect reached in a backpack that he had with him and partially removed what the male subject believed to be a handgun. The suspect then left the area.

Officers began a search of the area and contacted Joseph Lord, age 25, of Susanville. During the contact, officers located a .38 revolver on his person. Lord was arrested and transported to the Lassen County Jail where he was booked for Brandishing a Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Violation of Probation. He was also booked on a Lassen County Warrant charging Violation of Probation and Resisting Arrest. The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney for prosecution.
