Team Syko traveled to Sparks to compete in the Dublin Dirty Slow Pitch Softball Tournament St. Patrick’s Day Weekend. Most of the members of team Syko work at High Desert State Prison. They named their team and dedicated it to the memory of their friend and co worker Tyler Sykes who lost his battle with cancer at the age of 29. They all wore #32 which was Tyler’s race car number. Tyler’s dad, Doug Sykes was the teams pitcher.

The Dublin Dirty tournament is a fun and crazy tournament. It has some interesting rules. Each team can use a mulligan, some foul balls and strike outs can earn runs for the other team and if the eligible hat is worn by a batter he or she can earn up to 4 runs at one time. It was a fun tournament to honor a great friend and his family.

Even the umpire had fun
