Each year, Soroptimist International of Susanville recognizes one student from each grade level within Lassen County for the Students of Achievement Award and this year the Soroptimists are turning to the community for award nominations.
“Typically, we ask teachers throughout Lassen County to nominate their students for this award, but we know this school year has been a little different,” explains Soroptimist President Jamie Stocks.
“Many of us have been actively involved in a students learning this year, so we are turning to parents and our community to nominate the students for the 2021 Students of Achievement Award”
In order to be nominated, the student must have demonstrated an act of kindness, good character or academic improvement while facing a challenge this school year.
“Please remember this is not an academic award but an opportunity to recognize a student that has worked hard to overcome a challenge, shown kindness and good character.”
If you would like to nominate a student please email the Soroptimist Club of Susanville with your student’s story at [email protected]. Please include the student’s name, school and grade level as well as your name, phone number and mailing address.
Nominations will be accepted via email April 19th through April 31st.
